Spyderco Para Military 2 Lightweight Knife + AWT Aggressive Agent SKINNY Scales

This custom build starts with the Spyderco Para Military 2 Lightweight, a long-time favorite in the everyday carry world. The Lightweight model pairs Spyderco’s proven Compression Lock with a CPM BD1N stainless steel blade, delivering excellent corrosion resistance, edge retention, and easy maintenance in a full-size knife that carries extremely light.
From the factory, the Para Military 2 Lightweight uses FRN scales and a streamlined internal construction to keep weight down while maintaining the strength and reliability the PM2 platform is known for.
From there, we upgrade the platform with our precision-milled Applied Weapons Tech (AWT) 6061 aluminum scales, transforming the knife into a more refined and solid-feeling build while keeping the weight remarkably low.
These scales feature our aggressive Agent milling pattern combined with our Skinny cut, giving the knife a slimmer carry profile with improved ergonomics and grip. The interior of the scales is heavily pocketed to remove unnecessary material while maintaining rigidity and structural integrity.
Even with the aluminum upgrade, the knife remains incredibly lightweight. The stock Para Military 2 Lightweight weighs approximately 2.77 ounces, while the knife equipped with our AWT scales weighs approximately 2.87 ounces.
To accommodate the aluminum scale design, we made a few hardware changes during assembly. This build uses KP standoffs and handle screws, and the lanyard tube has been eliminated for a cleaner, more streamlined construction.
The result is a Para Military 2 Lightweight that retains everything people love about the platform — excellent cutting performance, reliable lockup, and easy carry — while gaining the improved feel, durability, and precision fit of AWT aluminum scales manufactured in Texas.
